  • Description: Known as the longest running gay dance club in Washington DC, Apex has been serving Washington DC's GBLT community for over 25 years. Apex's two levels has 7 bars, great music such as the top 40, house, electro house and hip hop and a chill lounge. Thursdays are college night so it's free if you have a college ID. Drinks are relatively inexpensive (about $6), but unfortunately, the bar is cash only.

  • Description: Be Bar's modo is that they aren't just 'another flashy overpriced sit-back-and-pose place, nor are we just a monochrome nightclub. We strive to boast a balanced clientele of locals, tourists and specifically to become 'the destination in DC nightlife.' Be Bar offers a cool haven in one of the worlds most vibrant cities, offering an intimate lively setting, relaxing lounge, theme nights, as well as a live DJ and dance space. Be Bar even has comfy couches to vedge out. Martinis are half off until 9 PM. Try the following flavors: Gummy Bear, Tropical Sorbet, and Key Lime. And watch out for bingo night, you'll get all your favorite drinks for just $2. Check with the club for times.

  • Description: DC9 is dubbed as a music venue and dance club because it's split into two levels: The ground level is open seven nights a week with no cover charge. There is a jukebox with over 130,000 songs to choose from. A great local haunt in the hip U Street corridor where you can grab a cocktail before or after a 9:30 club show. The second floor is dedicated to showcasing live music and djs, see the music calendar to see when your favorite act will be playing. Happy hour specials are excellent here are are available 5pm-9pm every day. They include: $2.50 Bud & Bud Light bottles, $3.00 rail cocktails, $3.00 beer special of the week and 1/2 price appetizers.

  • Description: When stepping into Fly Lounge you'll feel as if you're stepping into an airplane. This airplane themed lounge has become one of DC's hottest dance clubs. Walk around and you'll see little airplane windows with blue sky and clouds in the background, the bartenders all wear sexy stewardess outfits and you can help yourself to little peanut packets at the bar. At Fly Lounge, you can request the following services: First class (getting a table), Business class ('working' to get a table for free) and Coach (having a great time dancing around the club). As Fly Lounge is one of the more classy joints in DC, drinks are on the pricey side. Girls usually get in for free but guys are subject to the $20 cover. Dress to impress.

  • Description: Fur Nightclub is one of DC's biggest dance clubs, with two levels. The 1st floor playing hip hop and top 40 hits, and the lower level playing house and trance with the top DJ's making appearances. Being a top nightclub, drinks can get a little pricey (around $10) there is typically a $20 cover at the door.

  • Habana Village

  • Description: Very highly rated Matchbox in Chinatown features modern decor, great atmosphere, hip environment, and great food and drinks. The environment gets very lively, loud and crowded so be prepared. Try the 3.6.9 mini burgers, they are among the best.

  • Description: Love is one of the nations largest free-standing night clubs. With 52,000 square feet, Love has four floors, 50 VIP tables and 4 VIP rooms. Each floor features a different type of music. The first floor is world, the second is hip hop, the third is latin and the 4th is techno. Drinks are reasonably priced, averaging around $8. Love even has a pool table for those who aren't into dancing away night.

  • Description: Known by locals as 'the best venue in DC', Nightclub 9:30 definitely has lived up to their name. The dance floor is huge, there are many bars throughout, and if you're just coming to see a show, there is a lot of rail space for viewing. Always featuring an act, from big headliners to local stars, Nightclub 9:30 has something for just about everybody.

  • Platinum Nightclub

  • Description: Platinum Nightclub is among DC's largest nightclubs. It boasts four levels, three dance floors, and a VIP lounge with excellent sound system. Ladies get free entry Fridays. Dress to impress. The music is a mix of hip hop, reggae, R and B, club music and dance. This club is especially popular among college students as it's an 18+ venue.
