  • Description: One of the most upscale lounges in DC, 18th Street Lounge has 3 levels, 4 rooms and a deck. Featuring Reggae and Brazilian live music or a DJ spinning Jazz and Blues, 18th Street Lounge is your place if you're looking for class. There's typically a $10 cover (females often get in free), but drinks are reasonably priced.

  • Description: Known as the longest running gay dance club in Washington DC, Apex has been serving Washington DC's GBLT community for over 25 years. Apex's two levels has 7 bars, great music such as the top 40, house, electro house and hip hop and a chill lounge. Thursdays are college night so it's free if you have a college ID. Drinks are relatively inexpensive (about $6), but unfortunately, the bar is cash only.

  • Buffalo Billiards

  • Description: Buffalo Billiards is the it place for pool, and so much more. Featuring 29 brunswick gold crown tables, five dart boards, a shuffleboard table,two private party rooms, two large fully stocked bars, dining seating inside and on the patio, large patio sating for 100 and three huge projection TV's. Happy hour is from Monday-Friday from 5-7pm. Happy Hour includes: selected drafts for $2.75 & $3.50, rail drinks for $3.00 and select appetizers for 1/2 price.

  • Description: One of the local favorites in DC, Cobalt has both a bar (first floor) and a club (second floor). The music is great, and depending on the night you'll find it's a mix of retro, trance, hip hop, and other forms of electronica. Thursday nights you can catch the 'biggest package' contest. The drinks are moderatly priced with a pretty decent happy hour.

  • Description: When stepping into Fly Lounge you'll feel as if you're stepping into an airplane. This airplane themed lounge has become one of DC's hottest dance clubs. Walk around and you'll see little airplane windows with blue sky and clouds in the background, the bartenders all wear sexy stewardess outfits and you can help yourself to little peanut packets at the bar. At Fly Lounge, you can request the following services: First class (getting a table), Business class ('working' to get a table for free) and Coach (having a great time dancing around the club). As Fly Lounge is one of the more classy joints in DC, drinks are on the pricey side. Girls usually get in for free but guys are subject to the $20 cover. Dress to impress.

  • Description: Known for their strong yet inexpensive drinks, Fox and Hounds Lounge is somewhat of a DC tradition. Also known for their fantastic outdoor patio, excellent jukebox, and intimate setting.

  • JR's Bar & Grill

  • Description: A very laid back kind of bar, JR's Bar and Grill is perfect for those days you just want to hang out in a t-shirt and flip flops. It definitely has a more neighborhood feel than a lot of DC gay bars. Monday Night is Show-tunes where they show clips from stage and movie musicals on all the screens. Drinks are reasonably priced (they have a different special every night, from $2 drafts, $3 pints, $3 rail vodka and $5 Redbull vodkas, and on Sundays they have $2 Sky and $2 Coors Lite bottles all day.

  • Description: Recessions is an all around easy going and fun place. They have 2 billiard tables, 2 dart boards, and a Big Buck Hunter video station. Happy Hour is from 5-8pm Monday through Fridays. Happy Hour specials are: $3 Appetizers - Onion Rings, Mini Crab Cakes, French Fries, Potato Skins, Chicken Tenders, Mozzarella Sticks, Buffalo Wings, Calamari, Nacho Platter Beer & Rail Drinks-$2.00 Miller Light bottles, $3.00 Rail Drinks, $3.00 'King Kong' 28oz drafts, and $3.00 Coronas. They also have an internet birthday special. If you bring 3 or more friends in you get a free meal! Recessions also has karaoke every Friday Night from 9pm until 12 midnight.

  • Description: The Big Hunt has a great selection of beers and an amazing outdoor patio for those summer nights. They have 27 beers on tap, 4 bars and great food specials. Happy hour is also among one of the best in DC. Happy hour is Monday-Friday from 4-7pm and includes $3 rail drinks, $2.50 house drafts and $1 off all drinks. They also have some great food selections including $.15 cent wings on Tuesdays and 1/2 pizzas and free pool on Mondays. The Big Hunt is also a go to place for football sundays. With 5 huge flat screens to view the game on, live web access to fantasy fotball, wifi and $3 pbr's.
