- Description: HR-57 is among the more intimate jazz clubs in DC. The room is cozy with a decent-sized stage and exposed brick walls. The patio also provides a great place to sip a beer on summer nights. This is also one of DC's Bring your own Beer venues, so BYOB! There is a $3 corking fee and a small cover. They also feature 'Story Time' which is the second Tuesdays of the month. Stories go from 8-10pm and are a mix of first timers, regulars, and slam poetry.

- Description: Rock and Roll Hotel, a DC hot-spot, has been a favorite for quite some time. The atmosphere, decor, and bar staff are excellent. It's a great size for a music venue, intimate but just large enough that a band can get the crowd fired up. The cover is typically $12 and drinks are a bit pricey, but it's well worth it. There are a lot of little rooms upstairs, which is great when you need to take a little break from the loud music.
